1795
Pearsalls Ltd. was founded by James Pearsall in London, England.
1816
The Taunton facility was established originally processed silk for the lace trade. The Taunton site continued to grow as part of Pearsalls’s traditional textile business, processing silk products (including cottons, silk braids, even fishing line silk) and serving the clothing/textile markets.
1970s
Production at the Taunton facility shifted into the medical device field, beginning manufacture of suture materials and other medical textile products. This transition drew on Pearsalls’s long experience with twisting, braiding, dyeing, and coating fibers.
2020s
Significant transformation of the historic Taunton facility took place under Corza Medical’s biomedical textiles business. Investments upgraded the interior to meet 21st-century medical manufacturing requirements while preserving much of the historic building’s historic feel and legacy.
